Support us

Your gift goes to Mulanda and Lwala

The working group in Belgium consists entirely of volunteers. There are no salaries here, no office and no structure that has to be paid for first. What you give goes to the work there.

Mulanda

Make a bank transfer

The simplest way to support. A one-off gift or a standing order: both help, but a standing order really lets us plan ahead.

Belgian taxpayers who give € 40 or more per calendar year receive a tax certificate, which returns part of the gift through the tax return. For that we need your national register number, so don't forget to mention it. Gifts from abroad are just as welcome; the certificate only applies to Belgian tax returns.

Mention with your transfer:

  • ‘Gift – Sikiliza Leo’ as the message
  • Your name and address
  • Your national register number, if you want a tax certificate
  • From abroad: account holder Sikiliza Leo Werkgroep vzw, Belgium
Other ways

You can also support without a gift

Ask for support instead of presents

A birthday, an anniversary, a wedding. Ask your guests to support Sikiliza Leo instead of giving a present; we'll gladly provide the text and the account number.

Lief and Bert did this at their golden wedding in February 2026.

With your company or organisation

A project sponsorship, a team fundraiser or a place on our poster. We're happy to discuss what suits your organisation.

Atlas Copco sponsored the solar pump at the Mulanda hospital.

With your school or club

A soup sale, a concert, a collection. Our finest fundraisers came from people who organised something themselves and then called us.

The school-bag drive in Lier, and the concerts of HOV in Harmony.

A gift in memory

Some families ask for a gift to Sikiliza Leo at a farewell. We handle this with care and let you know what it was spent on.

In memory of Hilde Berger and Jens Van Roey.
Where your money goes

Small enough to follow it

Sikiliza Leo Werkgroep vzw is run entirely by volunteers. Nobody here is paid and there are no operating costs in Belgium: what the working group raises, about € 20,000 a year, is the largest part of the NGO's funds. The NGO also brings in income of its own: school fees from parents, Ugandan sponsors and the hire of the tuk-tuk.

Wages of 19 local staff and administration30 %
The 150 orphans and vulnerable children: school fees, uniform, lunch30 %
The two nursery schools: meals, materials, maintenance30 %
Emergencies: a water source, medical costs10 %

In Uganda a local board decides on spending, with a project manager and bookkeeper who lives in Mulanda. The working group advises and thinks along, and visits regularly; the last field visit was in January 2026.

Our newsletter (in Dutch), with news from Belgium and from Mulanda and Lwala, goes out with the tax certificate and is available at the benefit.

Partners

Who helps make possible what we do

Besides these partners, dozens of families, clubs and companies support the work every year: at the benefit, with a standing order, or with a fundraiser of their own.
